Although I specialise in the field of beauty and aromatherapy, I recently decided to branch out and offer cross stitch writing services as an additional niche.

How did I get into cross stitch?
I taught myself how to cross stitch at the age of 12, and spent a couple of years making cards and small gifts for friends and family. As a teenager, I gradually lost interest and my stitching fell by the wayside.
Skip forward a decade to 2006, when I stood browsing the magazine stand at the supermarket one day. The latest copy of Cross Stitcher caught my eye, with a cute little cover kit that I found impossible to resist! On impulse, I popped it in my shopping basket. I hadn’t thought about cross stitch in years, but couldn’t wait to get home and start stitching. From that day forward, I was completely hooked and cross stitched everything from pet bowls to babygrows, make-up bags, keyrings, coasters and even tiny aprons for wine bottles (yes, really).
Then children came along, and it was all put on the back burner for several years. Sadly, I was too busy working and juggling family life to find time to stitch.
That is, until the first lockdown of 2020, when I rediscovered my love of cross stitch during a random house decluttering session. Stitching was a welcome distraction, which brought so much joy and satisfaction during those crazy times.
Today, I’m just as enthusiastic about cross stitch as I’ve ever been. With 30 years of intermittent stitching behind me, I’ve built up a broad knowledge of all things stitchy – along with two magazine subscriptions and an out-of-control stash of supplies!
