Give Your Clients What They Want!

Give the people what they want

It’s 2022 and you need a haircut.

Maybe you fancy getting your nails done.

Or perhaps you’d like a pedicure before you go on holiday.

What’s the first thing you do?

Chances are, you’ll grab your phone and look it up online.

With this in mind, why do so many small businesses undersell themselves when it comes to providing online information?

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked up a prospective salon to be faced with a disappointingly sparse website (or worse still, no website at all!)

You can have the prettiest Instagram feed in town, but at the end of the day what people really want to see is a price list.

In an increasingly competitive industry, salons are jostling for attention and need to find a way of standing out from the crowd.

What are potential clients looking for? INFORMATION!

So, give them what they want!

This not only applies to your prices, but also your working hours and other useful info.

Make it easy for them, or they’ll just keep on scrolling to find someone else who does.

There really is no excuse. These days, it’s easy to knock up a simple website. You don’t need to be a computer whiz or farm it out to an agency. Even a single homepage is better than nothing at all.

Most people don’t want to “get in touch to find out more”. They don’t have the time or the inclination to start ringing round and making enquiries.

Ultimately, they just want to know your prices.

As someone who specialises in writing for the professional beauty industry, it frustrates me to see salons making such a basic oversight.

After two years of on/off lockdowns, many small businesses are struggling to stay afloat. Little things – like having an informative website – can make the difference between someone booking an appointment or not.

There’s always another salon around the corner. Don’t let potential customers keep scrolling – give them what they’re looking for!
